Leibstandarte SS MB [Maurizio Bianchi]-Weltanschauung,LP,1982,UK

Leibstandarte SS was a "side" project of Maurizio Bianchi. In 1981, William Bennett, head of the band Whitehouse and the British Come Org. label, offered Bianchi a record contract, which Bianchi signed unchecked. It was based on a "joke contract" that Steven Stapleton of Nurse With Wound had sketched. The contract assumed all rights to Bianchi's work. After delivery of the tapes Bennett edited-in speeches by Nazi leaders, and instead of the relatively unsensational name MB, it was published under the alias Leibstandarte SS MB, named after the SS unit that worked as bodyguards to Adolf Hitler! The music is harsh electronics sometimes touching the levels of noise. Together with the speeches mentioned create tthe ideal torture/horror soundtrack.Released through Come org in 500 copies and as bootleg in Japan in the 90s in 100 copies edition.

wasn't MB supposed to be incredibly pissed off about this release? any good industrial historians...

That would be the first Come Org. LP, "Triumph of the Will". It's his music with Nazi speeches overlayed throughout, done by Steven Stapleton by Bennett's suggestion.

I don't know the circumstances of the 2nd Come Org LP, but it's *mostly* just MB without any tinkering. One track, "Under the Victory Banner", has more propogandist speech added later. The rest is classic MB, and the second side is particularly brutal and...well done. It is very much the superior of the two albums. I own an original copy, it's one of the prizes of my personal LP collection.

Many thanks for this -- have been looking for it for years -- have been a big fan of the old MB for a long time, but this LP has eluded me until now -- have just spent a very nice afternoon listerning to it several times -- many thanks, very much appreciated!
